I couldn’t let today slip by without a birthday wish to my dear hubby. If anyone has had a front row seat to my life it has been him. I love him so.
We’ve known each other for 29 years and married for 25 of those. Jamie has been in my life for over half of the time I’ve walked this earth. He certainly knows all of my secrets and demons, and loves me in spite of it all. NOTE: I could easily turn this post into a syrupy, sticky mess, but I’ll work on my restraint.
Simply put, I am the luckiest gal alive to have the love and support of this man. He has never left my side. He was with me before cancer, and he is with me with cancer - with all of his force. It is not lost on me how he cherishes and takes care of me. I am blessed. I can never repay him. He is not asking.
His birthday weekend has been pretty epic. He and Mason were camping with Mason’s Boy Scout troop this weekend. (I am not sad about not going…I am NOT outdoorsy. Simply put, I don’t camp. Heck, camping to me is NOT staying at a full service hotel. I am so spoiled. I chalk it up to years and years of business travel.) I digress…
Not only was it the coldest weekend this year, but they slept in tents in the freezing cold both nights. The camping event was for shooting, so Mason was able to work on his rifle and shotgun merit badges. I hear he was a great shot! I’m not sure how I feel about having an advanced marksmen in the house, but I know Jamie is one proud papa.
They came home earlier today, so we have enjoyed a day of warmth and rest. Mason and I will take Jamie out to a special birthday dinner tonight. It’s low key, but it is also very special family time.
As for me, last Friday was my routine Mayo day + echocardiogram. My numbers continue to remain stable. My doctor is prescribing me stronger meds to help counter my gastro issues. I’m hoping it will help. Next up is my PET Scan, but that comes in a few weeks.
Here are a few pictures. The first is 10 years ago. Jamie and I were in Rome. It was our first trip to Italy. It was a quick mileage run weekend, but we have many special memories from that trip. The second is from Mason this weekend at the rifle range.
Until next time…stay warm!!
Happy Birthday to Jamie!!🎈
Happy birthday, Jamie!
